Public and stakeholder involvement

It is important that the knowledge and views of stakeholders and the general public are taken into consideration when developing the Fingal East Meath Flood Risk Management Plan. This is being achieved using the following means of communication:

Public information and consultation days

During the options appraisal stage of the study and future publication of the plan, a series of public information and consultation days will be held to provide opportunities for the project team to meet with stakeholders and members of the public.

The first series of public information days was held in November 2010. The next series of public consultation will be in November 2011 to provide information on the draft Plan for the study area. The aim of this consultation will be to present the key findings and recommendations of the study and to provide an additional opportunity for comment on the preferred plan.

Stakeholder workshops

Stakeholder workshops are held at key stages of the project to enable organisations to directly input to and influence the process and recommendations of the study.  The workshops also provided an opportunity for the stakeholders to express their views and feedback on the study. The outcome of the workshops and any pertinent issues raised are reported in the Environmental Report.
